GUIDE TO MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN

A Midwestern gem! (Okay so I'm biased, I grew up here.) Besides all of the obvious (Laverne & Shirley, Happy Days, the old PBR, brats, and CHEESE) there's lots of fun stuff to do in Milwaukee. Plus, people are really nice and talk with an accent.

while you're there it's worth a stop at:

Milwaukee Art Museum 700 North Art Museum Drive
Designed by Santiago Calatrava.
www.mam.org

Eisner Museum of Advertising & Design 208 N. Water
Pretty awesome museum, especially if you're a designer; located
in the Third Ward (there's some cafes, vintage stores and Milwaukee
Institute of Art and Design in the neighborhood).

The Shepherd Express
Milwaukee's free weekly; pick up a copy for all upcoming shows,
events, films.

The Onopa Brewery 735 East Center Street
Good place to get a local beer (besides Miller) and catch a show;
located in the Riverwest district (also check out the Riverhorse bar
and the Fuel cafe on the same street).

The Most Excellent Vintage/Thrift Store Shopping
Church thrift stores (if you want specifics you're going to have to
write me personally, this information is a little too precious to have out
in the open), Value Village, Tip Top Atomic Shop, places around
Brady street.

The Lakefront Lake Front Drive
Park your car and get out. The water's probably really cold and
hopefully the sky is really blue.

Oriental Landmark Lanes 2220 N. Farwell
When in Rome... bowl. It's in the basement and it's hand scored!
Next door to the Oriental (Landmark) theatre. I think there's a late
night brat stand nearby on North ave.

Harry W. Schwartz Bookshop 2559 N. Downer
The best bookstore (that I know of) in Milwaukee. There's an ice cream
place and the Downer (Landmark) theatre is down the block.

Usinger Sausages 1030 N. Old World Third Street
This is my final suggestion.
